WTF!!!! Is all I can say about this. I was not there in person but I did follow all the forums and looked at all the pictures, twitter postings and facebook postings and all I can say is that some of these girls are going to ruin this sport for the entire group as a whole. There were girls up there with little covering their ass, which isn't really a problem b/c the suits are made that way but how you pose is when you only have a small piece of cloth covering up your private areas. COME ON! ... Continue reading ...
America's Health
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Friday, July 27, 2012,
America has a weight problem.....I should actually rephrase that and so should the media.....America has a health problem. This society does not eat properly nor does it get enough exercise and rest, I might add. Health care cost are rising, not only for the work force but retirees as well and many aren't preparing for this. So think for a minute, how much medication are you on. If you are healthy probably none to 1, if not probably 4-6 if not more, and that is quite sad in my opinion. There ... Continue reading ...
Spot Reduction - NOT!
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Tuesday, July 24, 2012,
I rarely go into the ladies area at my gym unless it is to practice my posing so yesterday out of curiousity I wandered through the ladies area just to see if anything had changed in there lately. As usual everything was the same and absolutely nothing had changed. They still have the 2-3 lb dumbbells and there was that thigh toner machine that is NEVER used and for good reason. It was looking at this machine that made me think, ugh not another spot reducing concept. I just want to make it c... Continue reading ...
Be Polite
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Sunday, July 22, 2012,
Ladies and Gentlemen I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a good reputation in and out of the gym. Be polite and courteous, even if stupid people do things that piss you off, because someone is always watching. If you are in the gym share your equipment, offer to assist or spot and be open to questions if people are interested in your training and/or nutrition. If you are a dick people WILL notice and whenever you do good they will not be happy for you and most will wonder why ... Continue reading ...
Take a Break!

How are you feeling?
Exhausted
Sleepy all the time
Not sleeping at all
Body weak and constantly sore
Falling or tripping A LOT
Feel like crap everyday
Well if you answered yes to at least 4 of these then you could possibly be overtraining. Overtraining is simply exceeding your recovery capacity. I know this very well, I've experienced it twice in my life and let me tell you, YOU do not want to do this. It is one of the most horrible feelings I've ever had. Here is a great example, it's like walking... Continue reading ...
Excuses
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Friday, July 20, 2012,
We all make them, use them as well as hear them from other people every day, but when do you say enough is enough.***DISCLAIMER, DISCLAIMER*** I'm about to rant so if you don't want to hear a lot of bitching please stop reading this now!
I'm so tired of seeing people complain about their weight and bad health but then make excuses about it. Just yesterday I heard it, I won't say any names but I heard "I was in a hurry and had to grab some fast food and I got a burger." Damn! Really! You coul... Continue reading ...

Talk About A Boner
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Monday, July 16, 2012,
Hey get your mind out of the gutter. I'm talking to you! Specifically the women out there. Why women? You ask....well it's because over 80% of people with osteoporosis are women. A little sexist but it is what it is. Women have smaller, and thinner bones than men; estrogen usually protects bones in women but around menopause, estrogen levels dramatically drop putting women at a very high risk of developing osteoporosis. To try to prevent this and build up your bone density you need to ingest ... Continue reading ...
The # On The Scale
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Sunday, July 15, 2012,
When I was young I saw my mom constantly trying to find new, better, and faster ways to lose weight. She would see weight loss pills in stores and buy them like candy. Take the green pill to quickly lose 10lbs, then take the red pill to keep it off. The side effects were always crazy....abdominal pain, jitters, headache....need I go on! Are you kidding me? I don't even have a smart-ass response for all this crap. A person willing to make themselves violently ill to lose a couple of pounds, ug... Continue reading ...
Be You

Be who you are and say what you feel cause those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind - Dr. Seuss -
Whenever I feel in need of guidance I always go look at some Dr. Seuss quotes because no matter how old you get they always make the most sense. I have always been myself but there have been times in my life where I've felt that I might need to suppress who I really am. I know there is a time and place for everything so I may not let my true colors show, well at least all of th... Continue reading ...
Satisfaction
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Monday, July 9, 2012,
Satisfaction, the fulfillment or gratification of a desire, need, or appetite. Rarely do I ever seem satisfied and this is what pushes me to be better. I'm not sure I know anyone who is satisfied with any part of their life and most people treat this as a negative. They let it bring them down and it often makes them unhappy. I try to use it in a positive way, a way to help my self improve wither it be in the gym or in my personal life. So many obstacle can side track you from your goals and ... Continue reading ...
The Little Things
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Friday, July 6, 2012,
In my most recent competition I spoke with a few of the judges afterward to get their thoughts on me and what I needed to change or work on. There were two obvious issues I saw that I knew they would also bring up. First is my upper body, I know I need more muscle so that was a given and the second was my tan. It became splotchy before pre-judging but we did re-do it and it looked great at the night show. I was fine with these things and knew that I had to make sure at the next show I did my ... Own It
Posted by Casey Kennedy on Thursday, July 5, 2012,
The words "own it" mean a lot in my life. At a time in my professional not fitness career these words were spoken to me by my boss. I was younger and not really sure where I was headed; not only in my career but life as well. I never fully committed to much because I was always needing something new and stimulating to do, I often got bored with my life and tried to find ways to make it exciting, including whatever project at work I was doing at the time. He spoke these words to me and suddenl... Continue reading ...
